Coffee was first planted in Costa Rica in the late 18th century. Costa Rica was the first Central American country to have a fully established coffee industry. Las Cañas is a highly appreciated Arabica coffee from the Tarrazú region. This Las Cañas coffee is produced in very small quantities, called “micro-lots”, making it a particularly rare coffee.

Tarrazú is the most famous coffee producing region in Costa Rica and its high altitude contributes to the crisp flavour found in local coffees. Your Las Cañas coffee has been produced by Diego Abarca Quirós at his farm Finca San Calletano. Diego has been producing remarkable coffees for 20 years.

The annual harvest of Las Cañas coffee occurs in December-April and the special Arabica beans are then processed by the washed method. Las Cañas coffee is a gourmet coffee and single origin coffee, extremely appreciated for its sweet and fruity flavour notes.

As a testament to the unmatched quality of our coffee, Harrods and Selfridges, the high-end department stores in London, became Hayman's exclusive retailers in the UK.
